US 10-year Treasury note futures net bearish positions dropped last week

FXStreet (Mumbai) - As per the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) decreased their overall bearish positions in the US 10-year treasury note futures last week.

The non-commercial futures contracts of the 10-year treasury notes witnessed a weekly change of +49,713 net contracts to total a net position of -46,736 contracts in the data reported for June 23rd. The long positions in 10-year futures rose by 37,102 contracts, while the short positions fell by by -12,611 contracts.

The 10-year Treasury note yield currently trades at 2.346%, down 13 basis points on the day. The yield had dropped to a low of 2.292% earlier today.

DAX slumps to 2-week lows on Greek jitters

Germany’s benchmark index, the DAX crashed nearly 500 points at open and slumped to fresh two week lows below 11k threshold, only to recover slightly and reclaim 11000 levels. The DAX was heavily sold-off on Monday following its European counterparts as investors flocked out of the euro amid a looming Greek default.
