Wall Street declines on Friday and closes its first negative week in four
FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - The US stocks market closed negative on Friday as investors are concerned on Washington talks on debt ceiling. Major indexes stopped 3-week win streak and posted its first negative week with the Dow and the S&P touching 2 week lows.
The Dow Jones closed its sixth negative day of the last eight after declining 70.06 points or 0.46% to close at 15,258.24. On the weekly basis, the Dow lost 1.25%, first weekly drop in September. The S&P 500 eased 6.92 pts or 0.41% on the day to finish the week at 1,691.75, 1.06% down in the 5-days basis but above the 1,690 key support area.
The Nasdaq Composite declined 5.84 pts or 0.15% on the day to finish the week with 0.18% gains at 3,781.59.
