US: International trade deficit was $63.9 billion in June

"The international trade deficit was $63.9 billion in June, down $2.5 billion from $66.3 billion in May," the U.S. Census Bureau said on Thursday.

Key highlights:

  • Exports of goods for June were $128.6 billion, $1.8 billion more than May exports. Imports of goods for June were $192.4 billion, $0.7 billion less than May imports
  • Wholesale inventories for June were estimated at an end-of-month level of $597.5 billion, up 0.6 percent from May 2017, and were up 2.5 percent from June 2016
  • Retail inventories for June were estimated at an end-of-month level of $621.1 billion, up 0.6 percent from May 2017, and were up 3.4 percent from June 2016
